Она притягивает к себе много мужчин, беспрепятственно отдается своим влечениям и удовлетворяет их назло всему. Понять мотивы занятия проституцией можно, считает Вейнингер, если учитывать особое отношение проститутки к половому акту, который для нее, в отличие от других женщин, является самоцелью. Ею предъявляются наивысшие требования к чувственному наслаждению, и за все претерпеваемые лишения она награждает себя связью с сутенером. Публичная женщина тем не менее не чувствует общего подъема вслед за половым актом: она, напротив, «хотела бы исчезнуть всей своей реальностью», хотела бы быть уничтоженной, раздавленной, перейти в небытие, потерять сознание от наслаждения. Такая страсть не может быть удовлетворена, а поэтому, согласно Вейнингеру, проститутка не насытится и всеми мужчинами.

The prostitute occupies an exceptional position - outside the law, the law, and social respect - and lives her own and only her own life. True, she is cowardly, but she has the inevitable complement to cowardice, impudence, and therefore is not ashamed of her behavior. She attracts many men to her, freely gives herself to her desires and satisfies them in spite of everything. In Weininger's opinion, one can understand the motives of prostitution if one takes into account the prostitute's special attitude towards the sexual act, which for her, unlike for other women, is an end in itself. She makes the highest demands on sensual pleasure, and she rewards herself for all the hardships she undergoes with a relationship with her pimp. The public woman nevertheless does not feel a general upsurge following the sexual act: on the contrary, she "would like to disappear with all her reality," would like to be destroyed, crushed, to pass into nothingness, to lose consciousness from pleasure. Such passion cannot be satisfied, and therefore, according to Weininger, the prostitute will not be satiated by all men either.
